Behind the Scenes: An Apple Event shot on iPhone
What’s crazier than shooting an Apple event on iPhone at night for the first time? Documenting the whole behind the scenes on iPhone, too. (And yes, I did both)
I wanted to make a film that served as Apple’s ultimate testament to iPhone’s shooting capabilities. So, I wrote up the questions, interviewed key team members, and oversaw the shoot and edit to create a story about iPhone—the camera that was invented to democratize filmmaking—and how it’s time had finally come in the way our team was able to produce a professional-grade Apple Keynote event shooting on the world’s most accessible camera.
My hope was to excite and inspire filmmakers of all levels to shoot with the world’s most accessible camera: iPhone. The film ignited conversation across social media that catapulted iPhone’s credibility among consumers, filmmakers, and self-professed naysayers. And set a new bar for what a smartphone camera can do while challenging our competition.
